Why risk intelligence matters even during the pandemic

In times of COVID-19, proper travel risk intelligence that provides local information on lockdowns, travel and service disruptions, and key medical developments ensures that your home-based workers stay safe, compliant, and up-to-date. For example, companies and their workers cannot afford to be caught off guard by the latest border restrictions or closures, which could increase operating costs. While most countries have closed their borders and cancelled most flights, it is important to know the in-country restrictions that authorities frequently implement and/or change without much – if any – advanced warning.

Organizations also need to stay on top of changes in local curfew or movement restrictions. They should adjust their business operations accordingly and ensure the safety and well-being of their remote employees. Additionally, organizations should make sure their remote employees remain compliant and maintain good mental and physical health. Moreover, travel risk intelligence can alert companies to disruptions in essential services, which can directly impact the productivity of remote workers and the operational continuity of an organization. Altogether, this pandemic has demonstrated that an organization’s duty of care to its employees is not secondary; it is now more important than ever! Providing a duty of care relies on accurate and detailed travel risk intelligence.
